Ever feel really scattered? Like you’re trying to do a million things? Starting a church can make you feel that way every hour of every day. But recently I have been reminded how seductively ineffective living this kind of lifestyle can be.
Whether we know it or not, we “emit” a sense of how we are expereriencing life. If we are in a dark time in our life, we generally emit negativity. When things are going great, we emit a sense of hope. When we are busy, we emit chaos.
But as Christians, is chaos what we want to emit? In an effort to be real, to be sure, we want to emit authenticity. However, if Jesus is our rock, then we emit whatever place he has in our lives. If he’s one of many things, then people receive a mixed bag of things. I want to be about the one thing: Jesus.
Jesus said that he came to give life, and give it overflowing! Abundantly! Exceedingly fulfilling! If you could boil down what Jesus said in one word, I think he’d say…”LIVE”! Eat? Eat exceedingly well. Sleep? Sleep exceedingly well. Friendships? Enjoy exceedingly well. Work? Work exceedingly well. Play? Play exceedingly well.
Are you existing? Just surviving? Living a hectic life? Slow down and live.
